27 Weeks!

Tomorrow is a new week! I get to begin my 28th!! They're getting widdled (if that's a word) down... whoop!! It seems like it was just 10 weeks ago at 17 weeks that I was saying I couldn't wait to get to 20 weeks. Now I'm almost 30? And tomorrow I start my 3rd trimester? SO EXCITED!!

I will have to say some minor little discomforts are arising. The bigger my belly gets the more it feels like it's stretched out. Just a tad weird. Not quite uncomfortable, but the thought of having 3 more months of growth seems a little daunting..lol.

My abdominal muscles are apparently feeling the strain, too. I have a sense of pressure down there all the time, like they're tired..haha. Just wait you abdominal muscles. You have no idea what you're in for in the next few months. Belly band, here I come...

Hmm.. other than that? I have no complaints!

My glucose challenge test is Monday. I hate having any kind of testing done because there is always that fear of something coming back abnormal! That's the control-freak in my coming out... But, i have to keep reminding myself that everything is in His hands. He's held me up to this point and He only gives us what we need for the day, not for tomorrow as well. No sense in worrying about what will happen past today! So that's my focus for the week... not to let my nerves get the best of me, and that my thoughts will be fixed on the things above.. not on earthly things... in ALL aspects of my life. I'll just name that my weekly challenge!

We got some AWESOME stuff for Luke's room at Hobby Lobby. For those of you who know me... this store could be my downfall. It's like a complete buffet of crafts and home decor! And on top of that, all the wall decor, along with numerous other items were 50% off!! What day did we go? April 23rd. What day did the sale just so happen to end? April 23rd!! Totally hit the jackpot! We're going to paint bookshelves this weekend and will probably have his room done pretty quickly! Just the minor little details here and there that I'll wait for showers to see what we need to add.

We Are So Blessed!

Doc Visit

We got to hear the heartbeat once more, today. It's always an awesome sound that I love to hear. Luke, by the way, is kicking up a storm. I was chuckling in the doctor's office watching my stomach jump. I often wonder if other people notice that?

Dr. Westmoreland gave me the lovely glucose drink to take home. I'll drink it on the day of my next visit, and they'll check my blood sugar once I get to the office. Looks like red kool-aid. I'll just tell myself that's what it is! Maybe it'll go down a little better. I hear lots of stories of how horrible this stuff is, so I'll just wait and judge it for myself in 2 weeks.

Yes, that's right. My appointments are now changed to every 2 weeks! Cuh-RAZY! She also said we would talk about birth plans, etc next visit. Not sure what all that entails, but it sounds like fun!

Stats:
As of today, I've gained 15 pounds.

I still have no cravings. Pretty frequently I want a BBQ meal. Like the whole thing- potato salad, brisket with yummy sauce, baked beans.. etc. I guess that might be a craving?

I'm having to wear all maternity clothes now.. finally at almost 26 weeks.

Still feeling great!

I'll have completed 26 weeks on Wednesday, and starting my 27th week! Exciting!

Last but not least, this month we paid off my car!!! Praise the Lord! No more car payments, and we now have 2 paid for vehicles! So thankful!

25

Tomorrow I roll week 25 and start 26! Here's a picture! I've decided to take them in 5 week increments. The last picture was at week 20. I'll put both up so you can compare! A nice difference! Not too big still, but I'm not complaining. :)

20 weeks

25 weeks

My next appointment is Monday, so I'll be interested to know the new numbers as far as weight gain goes. I choose not to weigh myself at home and wait for those numbers to come out at the doctor's office. It's something I would obsess about and worry over, so there ya go! Makes me much happier and less neurotic. :)

Back to work for the next 2 days. Praying for a non-stressful 2 days. Praying I can retain a servant's attitude and be a witness to the patients I'm caring for, even when I don't feel like it. It's not my choice to "feel" like it or not. God commands it, so that's my prayer!

I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend! My friend, Karen, is due in June and we're giving her baby shower Saturday in Dallas. Can't wait!!

Oh my... 24!

Tomorrow I complete 24 weeks and will begin my 25th week! So awesome! I seriously feel like this is going OH SO FAST! I'm perfectly ok with that. The faster, the better, and the sooner we can hold our little one. I will have to say I'm totally down with being pregnant. I couldn't feel better, and he's definitely quite the kicker!

My mom always told me I was more of a squirmer, so I often wondered what my babies would feel like inside. No squirming here, just full on kicking! I LOVE it! I can see my shirt jump now, too, when he kicks which is totally weird. Yes, it's cool and a blessing, but anyone who has been pregnant has to admit it's a little freakish. It definitely makes Nate and I laugh, providing for amusing entertainment at night. He also seems to want to have a party as soon as it's about time to go to bed (for me). Every day is a new adventure. Pregnancy is such a fun, exciting time!!!

The last few days, I've been fretting over the fact that we really only have 3 complete months left until the beginning of July, at which he could technically come at any point. THAT makes me nervous when I think of all we have to do, and how all we have to do requires..... money. I hate spending it, as stated in previous posts. Nate often reminds me it will all work out and our God is in complete control, never leaving us wanting for anything. I just have to remember that and try not to be a control freak.

For any of those who read this that already have children... please feel free to look at our registries (babies r us, target) and fill me in on anything that's a MUST have that we don't have on there. Also, feel free to tell me to get rid of things that aren't completely necessary.

My next appointment is April 18th! As always, love to hear that heartbeat! Looking forward to it!!
