36...4 more to go...

Tomorrow I finish week 36 and start 37. I can't believe how fast time is flying! It literally is right around the corner, and we are both starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Yay!! I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and they are now weekly, which is super fun! I go next Tuesday, and I'll have our end of pregnancy ultrasound and the fun internal exam, as well. I'm anxious for both. Can't wait to see our little guy again, since it will have been 16 weeks from the last ultrasound. Also, I'm excited to see if there is any progress happening. I would LOVE for her to say I have a little dilation and softening going on! Or even better, "Hey, you're super dilated, and in labor! Just head on over to the L&D unit!"

Hehe, I can dream, right??

I rolled 30 lbs of weight gain yesterday. I'm ok with that! It could be a lot worse, and I know he is healthy because of it. I have to continue to remind myself that weight is never permanent. It'll come off. I'm actually dying to get on our P90-X routine again and am SO ready to be able to work out really hard, work up a major sweat, and feel those endorphins! Soon enough. :)

I'll update next week with new sono pics!!

35 and counting

Yeah, i don't have much to say this time, accept that I get to start a new week tomorrow! Just finished my 35th week and start week 36. So ready for these next few weeks to be over- hoping it all goes fast!

I have a church baby shower tonight, and that will be the last one! This weekend we plan to complete everything...EVERYTHING dealing with all the stuff we need for his arrival. We're also going to squeeze in an Astro's game as well as try and go to Kemah Friday night. We didn't get to go last weekend- Nate got a nasty stomach bug. So we'll see how this weekend goes- busy, busy!!

So, I already talked to Karen about this, but anyone else experience all-over aching? Muscle aching, like you're getting the flu? I think I'm just generally exhausted all the time, so that's probably more of it than anything. Just wondering. :)

Something else I have noticed in the last week or 2 are his movements definitely seeming much more human-like. Not that they weren't before, but they were mainly big punches and kickes, some squirming. Now it just seems like really big movements, like a giant arm, or an actual leg moving. Probably doesn't make sense, but you momma's know what I mean. His movements have taken on a new level of painful, too...haha. Sweet little guy- we can't wait. :)

34 weeks

Tomorrow, i'll finish week 34 and will get to start week 35! 6 weeks left (until my due date)!! Things are still seeming to go by pretty fast. Nate and I have a LOT we still need/want to do before then, so I'm glad we have those things to keep our minds busy. I'm already getting ancy and anxious to be at that point, so the less time I have to sit and twiddle my thumbs, the better.

This weekend we're driving down to the coast Friday night for a fun evening of dinner and fireworks over Galveston Bay. We aren't taking a pre-baby trip, so we decided to do several fun things throughout the rest of our time while it's just the two of us. We have an Astros game planned as well, for the end of this month. Not sure what else as of yet, but I'm sure other activities will be added. We have a lot of organization stuff that needs to be done inside the house, so I'm looking forward to getting a handle on those things as well.

We have another doctor appointment in 2 weeks and then the appointments will be switched to weekly. I will be 36 weeks at that point. She said she'll do an ultrasound at my 37 week appointment. I'm so ready to see his little picture, again! I'm sure it will be totally different than the one we had 13 weeks ago. Man, time flies! She also said she lets her mommas go up to 41 weeks before she discusses induction, if they haven't gone into labor at that point. I'm totally ok with that, although I know it will be hard going passed my due date. I really don't want to be induced, and don't want to go crazy before 40 weeks. I've seen lots of people get really crazy starting at 37 weeks, that it's time for the baby to come. I'm going to try my hardest not to do the same.. there are still 3 weeks left for him to develop, and I don't want to rush things, either physically (by earlier induction) or in my mind. So I'm asking for accountability! If I start getting nutso after 37 weeks, just because he is "term", tell me to cool it! I'm not letting myself get crazy until I've reached my actual due date. Just a personal conviction of mine. ;)

Other than that.. just moving right along! Taking each week at a time, and thankful for each week of healthy development!!

Summer

I'm not quite sure what happened to Spring, but it left Memorial Day weekend. Since then we've had multiple days reaching at least 100. We had a record 2 days in a row of 105. Not too comfortable for this pregnant lady!! My feet and hands are feeling the heat as well- I get some pretty nice swelling if I don't stay hydrated.

On top of the heat, the grass and trees are so parched. Things all around the Houston area are dying or well on their way to that point. I learned we haven't had significant rain since August of last year. And since October of last year, we have received the equivalent amount of rain as the Sahara Desert!! What?? That's so insane to me! We live in such a tropical city, it's really hard to believe. I told Nate I don't remember the last time we had several days of soaking rain like we're used to seeing around here on occasion. I really don't even remember the last time we had 1 day of rain showers. It definitely is a prayer request. We need the rain SO bad. I've even tried washing my car to provoke it. ;) But, no luck! :) The next 10 days are scorchers and no rain in sight.

I think I'm actually glad it's hurricane season. That might sound crazy, but it seems to be the only chance we have to get some good rain around here. I'm not talking a Hurricane Ike or anything, but a nice little tropical depression would be great! Of course God is bigger than our concerns and will provide in the right time. So we're praying!! Water restrictions are soon to come, apparently.

I had a doc appointment today. Luke's heartbeat sounds great! He's moving, rolling, punching, and kicking organs like a champ! We got to meet one of my closest friend's new baby, Calvin, this past weekend! What a precious little guy. We've gone through most of our pregnancy together, so now that she's holding her son makes me all the more excited for ours!! I just can't wait to see what he looks like. What color hair, his eyes, if he looks like me or Nate, or a mixture of us both? God is so amazing. I'm so thankful for the gift He has given us in Luke.

I've gained 4 lbs since the last doc appointment 2 weeks ago. Yikes! Now weighing more than I ever have in my entire life!! haha.. I look forward to the challenge of getting things back together once little man is here! 6 more weeks!!!

So many great things!

This past Friday my work buddies gave us a baby shower. Above is the yummy, handsome cake! It's also the day my friend Karen had her baby, Calvin Walter! We're headed up to Dallas Friday to meet him- so excited.!!! :)

Work has been MUCH better. I can't even describe it. I also learned that I'll be able to continue working lighter duty until Luke decides to make his appearance. I know it will be tough, especially in the end, but it will be worth it! I'm just so glad and thankful I have that opportunity and won't be forced to take early leave. Praise the Lord.

Tomorrow I'll start my 34th week! I can't believe 33 weeks have gone by. We have a doctor's appointment next Monday, and I always look forward to these. :) Not a fan of the scale these days, but that's ok. Gaining weight is good. So far I've gained a total of 22 lbs, so we'll see what happens Monday!
